CALGARY, ALBERTA--(Marketwire - Aug. 16, 2007) - TVI Pacific Inc. or
the "Company" (TSX:TVI) today confirmed that the Alberta Securities
Commission ("ASC") has approved TVI's application for a management cease
trade order for the directors, officers and other insiders of the
Company.
The action follows TVI's August 8, 2007 news release announcing that
the Company was voluntarily planning to restate its consolidated
financial statements for the year ended December 31, 2006 and for the
three months ended March 31, 2007. The ASC has granted the Company sixty
days to file the restated financial results.
"We are pleased that the Alberta Securities Commission has approved
our application," said Clifford M. James, TVI President and CEO. "We
believe the management cease trade order is an appropriate step in the
circumstances, as we work to finalize our second-quarter financial
statements and re-state our financials for the affected periods."
