CALGARY, ALBERTA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- 08/30/11 -- TVI Pacific Inc. (TSX: TVI) (OTCQX: TVIPF) ("TVI" or the "Company") announced today that the operator of the Tenere Block in Niger, Chinese National Petroleum Corporation International Tenere Ltd. ("CNPCIT"), has advised that the Facai-1 well was plugged and abandoned on August 23, 2011.
CNPCIT started drilling the Facai-1 well on June 13, 2011 and reached a total depth of 3,861 metres (12,667 feet). The well encountered two small gas shows during drilling; however, wireline logs indicated no zones worth testing. The Facai-1 well is the third and final well of a three well carried program for TVI in the Tenere Block in Niger. The well also fulfills the first exploration period work program commitment on the Tenere Block.
Once the final well data and reports are received from CNPCIT, TVI will analyze those reports prior to making any final conclusions and will provide an update at that time.
